A few years back my dad decided he wanted to learn how to sail, so with only one "sailing lesson" under his belt he went out and got a 28 foot sailboat, "The Fusion." He also recently started racing his sailboat which is both exciting and terrifying for me...but he loves it. Not wanting to look like amateurs my mom and I made official "Fusion Race Team" shirts for his "crew." This year for his birthday, in addition to attending one of his races, I made him a sailing themed birthday cake (of course). The sailboat is made of sugar paste and while it was probably not the best medium for this, I had some left over and was whipping up this cake in record time. The cake itself is a Cappuccino cake with Caramel Cream Cheese Buttercream icing.
Here she {he} is!
