Gumpaste Flowers

This cake was made for a bridal shower. I had seen a lot of cakes with flowers all over one tier and fell in love...so of course this was my next undertaking. Little did I know that making all those flowers takes {forever}. But it was well worth it because I loved the outcome. I matched her wedding colors (grey and mustard yellow) to get some practice for the actual wedding cake/cupcakes coming up in just under a month {eek}.

Salted Caramel Cake--Sabrina's favorite!

Fall Flavors

I am doing a cake tasting for a friend whose wedding is just around the corner. I could have just made something simple but if you know me at all, you know that's just not an option. I made three mini 4 inch cakes (and a few cupcakes for my friends and the boy) with the leftover batter.

Cake flavors:
Dark Chocolate Cake with White Chocolate Buttercream
Snickerdoodle Cake with Cinnamon Buttercream
Pumpkin Cake with Cream Cheese Buttercream

Tennis Cake

My mom asked me to make her a cake for her tennis potluck. I prefer to make pretty, girly, frilly cakes but I accepted the challenge. Most everything was molded out of fondant and the court was made from a green Sugar Sheet. Lemon cake with fresh strawberry buttercream in between the layers and vanilla buttercream icing. I didn't get to try it but there wasn't much left so I guess it was OK.
